What You Put In
What You Put In is a series that investigates water use in relation to the largest system of fresh water in the United States. These pieces break our complacency of abusing fresh water by bringing it to a human scale. The pieces appear as if they are consumer products, but they take the form of a Great Lake and are scaled to fit conventional products. At a human scale an individual has complete control of the lake, it questions how well of a steward they are towards it and how it is currently being used. Having the symbol of a natural entity enter the home disrupts the mundane by making one think of its absurdity, beauty and dysfunctionality.
