Ember
Inspired by the story of Prometheus giving fire to humans as an allegory for technology, this sculpture reflects on our capacity to understand our new capabilities. If the ability to truly command fire is upsetting to the gods, then we at most have embers standing on the edge of what we can truly do. This piece was made as part of an artist residency program at Salem Art Works in 2012.
